The Land Stewardship Committee was established by the Conservancy’s Board of Trustees with their prime focus areas to be Security, Land Use and Storm Water Management. A sub committee was formed for each area.
Security – This committee monitors security issues within SRCC and gathers ideas for possible SRCC-owned land use.
Land Use – This committee monitors the development within and around SRCC boundaries to insure enforcement of our development agreements and county regulations. This also includes environmental issues within the SRCC footprint.
Storm Water Management –This committee monitors SRCC's storm water ponds and works closely with the County to insure they are working properly.
The Land Stewardship Committee participates in activities such as attending zoning hearings pertinent to our area, contacting county and state agencies about issues in our area, monitoring county and state maintenance of facilities that serve our area, monitoring activities occurring on SRCC property relative to security, discussing issues with other communities in Edgewater, and in general, knowing what is happening in the Edgewater area that affects SRCC.
Through these committees, the board is kept up to date on any issues. All SRCC residents are asked to be aware of what is occurring in these areas and to report concerns to Land Stewardship Co-Chairs. Land Stewardship issues will continue to change. Anyone interested in being a part of Land Stewardship should contact the Chair.
